Concealed Carry on Campus Opinion

About concealed carry legislation in Louisiana.

Maybe if it passes there, it will be less shocking to so many people here.

For some reason folks seem to think Campus Carry licenses all the students to carry a weapon. They don't realize that the people this would effect are already licensed to carry almost everywhere else they go.

That's because that's the what campus carry opponents want it to sound like. They want people to think campus carry is going to force colleges to issue handguns at freshman orientation, right before the keg party.

They seem to like the phrase "hand out guns to students too" although I don't think it was use in this case.

So any legislation needs to be titled something like, "Concealed Carry for CHL holders on campus." The first lines need to spell out: Concealed Carry License (CHL) holders who are required to be over 21 years of age (exception, military over 18), have gone through 10 to 15 hours of state training with qualification, and have gone through extensive background checks, both federal and state be authorized to.............
