I'm I legal to carry before my renewal comes back?

Wife and I were a bit late doing our renewal and our birthdays have come and gone and are still waiting for our new license to come back. Are we illegal if we carry?

If you do not have a current CHL on your person you can not conceal carry. You can carry under MPA (in your car and to/from your car and home).
