Instructor Class Question

Hi guys. I just got my schedule to attend the instructor's class.

I noticed on the schedule that on day one there is a portion called "Private Security Bureau - Investigations" being presented by "PSB Staff". Based on what I can tell, PSB concerns itself mainly with dealing with governing the rules for private investigators, is that correct? I'm curious why they are presenting in a CHL class. Does being certified as a CHL instructor confer any kind privileges in the realm of private security?

Nope -- As I recall, it deals with DPS investigations of CHL instructors doing no-nos. But there doesn't seem to be a section in the handouts covering that portion.

Oh. So it's more of a "don't sell certificates or we're comin' to getcha" kind of thing? That's not nearly as wonderful as I thought it might be. :)

It is actually quite wonderful. Knowing that unscrupulous instructors can be investigated and removed from the program adds credibility and greatly removes any temptation to shortcut the system.

Some of the class sections in the TX DPS CHL-I class sound intriguing... most are not.

The Licensing Bureau Investigator's presentation was good, unfortunately that division is grossly understaffed.
