An instructor was arrested in January for tampering with a governmental record for signing the CHL-100 without actually going to the range with students:

Is it possible that her CHL instructor's license wasn't revoked? She is offering a similar deal through another deal website today:

Often times sites such as Groupon Daily Dealster etc have deals set up 3-6 months in advance.

It's a Class A misdemenor not a felony.

But she may be . . . Out on bond? Awaiting trial? Charges dropped by DA? Already released? Given a fine?

I guess it's like a dope dealer getting out on bond, and then selling dope to pay for his legal fees and bail.

I qualified three of her students on the range some months back. Did it for the cost of range fees because one was a coworker's husband and the other were friends of his. I hated to see them have to pay twice because she was shady.

Step back and un-stick your knickers. An arrest is an accusation. The accused don't go to the dungeon or the gallows.

Of all poeple, 2A supporters should stand in front of the line when the gov't is held accountable to back up their accusations.

We're actually a pretty Liberal bunch of folks who should think that ALL of the Bill Of Rights carries the same weight. To do otherwise puts in the same box with Di-Fi, Billary, and a few others.

Are you aware of the facts of this case?

Nope.

From what I read here someone was arrested and is being convicted in what could, loosely, be labeled the 'media'. That don't seem right.

DPS has evidence from students in at least one class that said the instructor issued CHL-100s without requiring them to shoot. Three of those students had another instructor at the range certify them for the shooting portion.

It's not media hype and no one is "convicting" anyone. When charged with a felony or Class A/B misdemeanor, an instructor's certificate will be suspended, as is their CHL. If they aren't convicted, then the suspension is lifted.

I may not really be grasping what is being talked about in here, but I'm sure evidence was presented to show that this instructor was guilty. The media does add their "spin" to things that they report, but I'm sure the case was handled properly and evidence was presented.

As best I can understand from reading these pages, someone was accused (arrested). Rather than an assumption of innonence, some of us seem to have convicted the accused before there was ever a trial.

Accusations carry weight. Perhaps some Police Reports deserve an award for Creative Writing.

I think OJ did the deed, but it wasn't proven so he walked.

Are you talking about in this case? If so, when did you read the police report and what makes you think is falsified? If you're not talking about the the police report in this case, then why gratuitously throw in the anti-DPS comment?

No one has convicted her and it's likely the op was trying to warn people that taking her class may be risky business under the circumstances.
