Wondering two things about this rifle. One what is it worth? It is a Remington 700 CDL 35 whelen made in 1988, supposed to be new in the box. Wondering what it is worth and if someone is trying to pull one on me.
Second does any one know anything about the round from personal experience? Is it worth having to hunt with in texas should I choose to do so? Thank you for all your help and opinions.

CDL should be a high-grade, since ADL is fairly basic and BDL is more deluxe. 35 Whelen is a necked up .30-06 case to .35 caliber, so ballistics should be great for the first couple hundred yards and less so thereafter. If you are not planning on hunting mule deer in far west TX at ranges over 200 - 250 yards it would be about as good as any.

The reason why I ask is that a fella wants to trade that for my Bushmaster AR15 M-4. I already have a remington 700 in 30-06 and a winchester model 88 in .308, most of the hunting I do is hog or occasionally deer.
