Sweet! So when does this start? By that I mean, when can we actually legally carry in our work parking lots with full backing of laws? Or am I mistaken, and this takes place immediately?

I don't understand why so many people thought he wouldn't sign it. Was there actually some indication that he wouldn't? Gov. Perry has been a strong 2A supporter. Up until Friday he hadn't signed probably 95% of the 1500+ bills on his desk, one of which happened to include the parking lot bill, yet many here were a little too quick I think to claim he wasn't signing it because he was pandering to business interests or because of a potential presidential run.

I think Perry will toss his hat in the ring very soon. I think his signing this bill is his way of notifying everyone where he stands on 2A. I don't think anyone needs to be confused as to his stance.

Perry himself carries as evidenced by a news article where he shot an aggressive coyote. He is very much in favor of 2A. His signing was the least of my worries. Waiting until Sept 1 to celebrate. My company HR has a rule that they can search your car and if you refuse the search be terminated.
