By Congress enacting a de-facto ban on horse slaughterhouses in the US to ease the suffering of horses, it has actually increased the suffering of horses.

I read this one this morning and it makes me sick. Those behind the US ban will never acknowledge how much more suffering they've heaped upon these animals.
I'm so tired of America being restricted from doing things that are just fine when everyone else does them. Where are the protests against the Mexican slaughterhouses?

IIRC, one of the last US horse slaughterhouses was somewhere around Athens, TX or Jacksonville, TX.
Does anyone know where, and how many people lost their jobs when it closed?
