First Time I've Been "made"

First off, a little background. I've had my CHL for about 6 months now (feels longer than that). I carry pretty much everywhere I'm allowed (not work and not sports, but most everywhere else). I also play Bass at my church. I've never had anybody notice my gun except family, etc. that know I carry.
Today at church I was carrying my bass to the other room and one of the church kids was walking behind me. After a few minutes he says, "Why do you have a BB Gun?". That's when I realized my bass strap had caused my shirt to catch and rise above the butt of my XD9sc. The funny thing is this stuff happens a lot (getting out of the car, sitting in a restaurant, etc.) an while I always take care of it when I notice, it's never been pointed out to me by anybody except those that know I carry (mainly family). I guess when a kid is eye level with your waistline or below it's a little more noticeable to them. Haha
I just sort of brushed him of with a chuckle and he forgot all about it. Gotta love the kids.

Kids pick up on a lot of stuff like that. I remember a story during Stalins era where the kids were good at picking out people that were not from the area. Shoes were usually a dead giveaway.

They are much more observant than most adults. They also tend to speak their minds more freely. If your shirt gets caught up often, maybe you need to get a longer shirt.

Yeah, it only catches on the butt of the gun when I'm sitting. It's become habit to tuck my shirt back over it when I sit down. Most of the time it's probably not visible then either but more my being nervous that it is.

I usually carry OWB with an FBI cant. It has happened to me a few times, but not very often.

I carry IWB in such a way that the grip of my pistol is barely above my waistband. This is more comfortable and conceals better but it's more likely to catch my shirt than when I had it adjusted higher.

As WildBill stated , Need to be careful with the shirt problem, next time could be someone that freaks out and calls cops.....

If you're having to constantly futz with your cover garment, you need to rethink the way you conceal.

What holster are you using? I don't typically have a problem using my SuperTuck at the forward most cant. At what position on your waist do you have the gun?
