Inform LEO's or not?

My practice has been to give the LEO my CHL and license but not to volunteer I am carrying until/unless asked. I have recently been told that while not required, I should inform police I have a CHL and I am carrying. My thought is I do not want them to misunderstand such a statement. Thoughts?

If asked for ID, give them both the CHL and TDL.
if they then ask if you are carrying, answer honestly.
no more, no less. Simple and easy :txflag:

My practice has always been to show my CHL when asked for ID or if there are any weapons about but only if I am aksed. I don't make a habit of being questioned by the police so my system has only been tested about 4 times in the last 15 years, in each case I was told to slow down a little, have a nice day and stay safe.

IMHO it is best to let the officer have control of whatever may be going on.

:iagree: This is what I do too. Fortunately, I haven't had very many occasions to do this.

Strange thing is now that I have a CHL I feel better about traffic stops. A lot less nervous with the training I've had in understanding the procedures.
Have only been pulled over once in the last 3 years and he actually was after another vehicle that had been involved in a hit and run.
