Unarmed self-defense - Tyler 12-5-2006

A thug armed with a knife carjacked a vehicle in a gas station in Tyler. The vehicle owner, a 75-year-old woman, sprayed him in the face with gasoline.
The robber drove away in the vehicle, but was later arrested. Charges included a parole violation.

The part, "...Charges included..." just gets me.
It sounds like the lady realized that she was not truly "unarmed".

My son is the Brookshire's employee. He seen the struggle and came to her aide, but he had already drove off in her vehicle.

Nathan told me that the woman wanted a lighter. He said she was a fiesty old woman. He is 24 and thinks anything over 30 is old so don't be offended.

I'm not offended by the word old. You don't get old without being halfway smart or impressively lucky.
I should have mentioned earier that it was brave of your son to go to the aid of someone being attacked.
