Just wanted to share my story. Monday I had a motorcycle accident. Something was going weird with the bike a few miles before, I came to a left turn and next thing I know I am laying on my right side in the middle of the road on the bike. I was carrying my FNP-9 in a Crossbreed Supertuck with my shirttail out. When I crawled off the bike I saw my gun about 15 feet down the road. I quickly recovered it and re-holstered. Later I inspected it and there is not a single scratch on it??

The bike will need several parts replaced and I have a separated AC joint which hurts but will be OK. I just was amazed at the gun with no scratches. My FNP-9 has no safety other than the trigger, and of course the trigger was not pulled so no discharge from the trauma.

Was lucky enough never to lay down any of my bikes. Wife will make sure I never do as bikes are now off limits. The things we do for love.

I'm glad you are alright. If I had been carrrying when I had my last motorcycle accident, I would have really looked like a hollywood stuntman. I ended up doing two complete flips before landing on my back. No guessing where the gun would have ended up. Anyway, what kind of bike do you have?

I have a 1989 Honda PC 800 or commonly called a Pacific Coast. Still waiting to see if the insurance is going to fix it or total it. It has been a great bike.

stevegriz, glad to hear you are alright. Went down on my Ultra a few years ago, limped away with a broken rib and sprained ankle. Wasn't carrying at the time but wonder if I was if I would have looked for my gun as quickly as you did.

Are you the original owner? Nice bike.

Glad you are ok. It has been many years since my last motorcycle accident and I am saying my prayers that it will be many more until my next. Wrecking with a gun can be scary depending on how you fall. IWB is probably the safest way to go, but it would still hurt to land on it. Sounds like you did good. Get better and get back on the road soon!

I am not the original owner, I bought it in 2006.

One note, after re-reading my original post I wanted to make it clear, the gun was ahead of the bike not behind it. So it came out and kept going, but no scratch. I did find some asphalt in the groves of the hammer that came off easily.

I can see you recovering your weapon, taking off your helmet while walking over and keeling over your downed steed to gently stroke it's gas tank and then firing a couple of rounds into it to put it out of it's misery.

Then picking up your cell phone to call the insurance company.


"Stuff" can always be replaced. I hear SO MANY motorcycle accidents that end FAR MORE seriously that yours. Lost a couple friends now. So glad to hear you walked away from this one.

LOL!! Love the imagery. Ditto for escaping (relatively) unscathed.

Glad you are ok. Had my wreck about two months ago. The bike slid out from under me while crossing a river crossing. Busted three or four ribs in a couple different places. Gun was in saddle bag. Only damage was to me and the v-strom.

I was in Kendalia when I sent down, just outside of town. Nobody was around at the time of the accident. However shortly after I had gotten up and checked on my grandson a truck came by and the man jumped out to check on us and helped me upright the bike and move it out of the road. Several others stopped to check on us. Someone called 911 I guess because the volunteer fire department showed up and the police. When the lady office asked for my ID I gave it to her and said I guess I am supposed to show you this also and showed my CHL. She said that is OK and that was it. Everyone was extremely nice and concerned and helpful.
