Geoff Fisken, most decorated British Pacific pilot of WW II

Geoff Fisken, a native of New Zealand, was a Royal Navy pilot in Singapore in 1941. (At that time, New Zealand and Malaya were British possessions. Also "air forces" had not been invented.)
After the Japanese attack in December 1941, which started the day after Pearl Harbor, he downed six Japanese military planes, earning the title of ace. He was injured in February 1942, recovered, and returned to combat for about a year. In all he downed 11 enemy aircraft, more than any other British pilot in the Pacific.
He returned to New Zealand and spent the rest of his life in agriculture. He died in June at age 95.
