Over in one of the General Discussion forums it has a permanent topic called Pictures of Your Daily Carry. And, I thought it'd be kinda neat if this forum had some photos of your reloading set-ups along with maybe some details as to why you picked the gear you did and why you set it up like that. I personally don't have a reloading setup but I sure am thinkin about it and seeing what ya'll have done could help me and others like me to decide on how to set ours up. What do ya'll say?

I use a Dillon 650 with a Dillon brass feeder and an RCBS bullet feeder. I also use the Dillon primer tube filler.

I mainly use these because I do not have much free time for reloading so I have to use my time wisely.

Nothing fancy in my setup. I've got the Lee 50th Anniversary Kit (Breech-Lock Challenger press), a small "bench" (a small restaurant table bolted to the wall for stability), and a lot of shelving.

Wow, a whole reloading corner. Impressive! What do you use the cat litter bins for?

Mine's pretty simple. Just a Lee turret right now, might upgrade to a progressive next year, depends on how much I shoot. I haven't fired any guns since January now, and that's pretty shameful It was all built with some Simpson Strongtie connectors, although a more experienced woodworker might find such things to be unnecessary. Me, I'll stick with overengineering, thankyouverramuch.

You can't see it, but above the work light is a 1.5' sturdy shelf. To the left (not installed in the pic) is a large safe, and to the right is a locking storage case for all my primers, powder, reloading tools (calipers, scales, etc.), and ammunition. I'm pretty darn happy with the setup!



I'll post some pics of the "finished" area once I clean up around it...right now it's a bit of a mess.

The green/blue one is my range bucket. I bring it with me when I go shooting to collect the brass and bring it back home. The two yellow ones underneath it are for scrap steel and brass to take to the metal yard for cash. The rest of the buckets stacked in the corner have no purpose yet. Eventually, they'll likely be used for brass storage. I keep by brass separated out by caliber and headstamp, so no one type has exceeded a gallon-size container. I expect that will happen at some point (probably with .223), and I'll have to start using the buckets.

Yeah, my In-laws were going to throw it out, and it seemed the perfect container for storing my tumbler media.

The photo is actually a panorama of several photos stitched together (I think it was 7 or 8 of them). It's impossible to get a shot of my reloading area without a fisheye lens, so the panorama was how I had to do it. If you look closely, you can see discrepancies where the walls meet the ceilings and a couple of places on the shelves as well.

How is your bullet feeder working? I'm considering one of the three RSBS, Kiss and Hornady, but haven't talked with anyone with experience. I'm also concerned about having to bell the cases a good deal more than I do now. The more you work the case mouth, the earlier they will split. Have you noticed cases failing sooner?

I actually had a great deal of trouble with the RCBS feeder at first. The picture I had of my setup was a bit old, and I have since added a speed control to the bullet feeder (a $4 potentiometer) and 99% of my problems went away. Now I love the bullet feeder and couldn't imagine reloading without it.

I believe though that the KISS feeder is a better product though it cost a bit more. I have heard people have fewer problems with it.

I do have to bell the cases a tiny bit more but I have not yet noticed any extra case failures. More time will tell the story on that though.

I split a sheet of 3/4" plywood lengthwise and laminated the two parts together. Cut it into the table top pieces, screwed the main top to the tool cart, affixed the side table and legs and then sealed with a MinWax poly stain.

For a portable solution that allows me to keep the materials handy, I'm not sure that I'd change anything. So far, I've loaded a couple thousand 9mm and .380 and have no complaints.

To the OP, best of luck coming up with the solution that is right for you.

I just spent a day and a half cleaning, reorganizing and revamping my reloading room. I made a 90 degree panorama from the doorway, so figured I would post an update:



I'll have shelving wrapping around to the left wall sometime next week. I would have done it today, but grabbed the wrong brackets at the store.

Here's mine. Just got it set up the way we want it. I think we will need to upgrade to a progressive at some point as reloading 9mm on a single stage can get tedious at times.
