Will the crime rate go down? I think so, at least for the players.

Seriously would there be more crime if there were no football on Sundays?

Interesting thought.
My brother lived up in Denver area for a long time, he said the ski resorts hated the Broncos because they would get in the playoffs and all the locals would stay home on Sundays to watch the game instead of going skiing. And then the Broncos would choke and not make it to the Superbowl anyway...
I suppose if the sports-oriented part of the criminal population was parked in a bar on watching the game, there might be less burglaries and such. Maybe more intoxication events and assaults, tho?

Iv'e been to Denver in football season on a Sunday. Your right, the locals are very supportive of the Broncos.

Good question. Some of the players get into fights and shootings and other violence because they think their job means they're big shots. Would they act more normal if everyone treated them normal?
Some studies have links between football players and violent bullies (assault or robbery if done by adults) in K-12 but no proof it there's causation or only correlation.
