I have been stocking up on Federal .45 ACP because it has been cheaper to buy than WWB or Remington.
Well, I just noticed that the Federal brass has SMALL primers in it!
Now I have to seperate this brass from all of my other ones before reloading.
Why would they do this?

I don't know I wish all .45 was small primers then I would only need one size pistol primer. Separate them and use them when you are at a lost brass event. I shoot the small pistol brass, when I have some, at IDPA events. It drives the brass vultures crazy.

Welcome to the head-bangers' club - Winchester and CCI also does that in their NT (non-toxic) ammo, and
I've heard Fiocchi does as well.
Sorry for butting in since I'm not a reloader.
I just compared a box of Fiocchi and Monarch and they are the same. The primers are huge when compared to my 9mm ammo, which I assume use small pistol primers. Of course, none of mine is non-toxic ammo, if that's what you meant.
