The Norway killer used a Ruger Mini-14 for his crime.
The anti's are now decrying this weapon as "the poor man's assault rifle".
This is just another case of the anti's blaming the tool instead of the criminal using it.

Wellp. I am currently a poor man, and currently own a Mini 14. Never thought about it as a poor man's assault rifle. Thats ...incredibly ignorant. I do love that rifle though!!

Seems like a pretty stupid thing to say. If anything the WASR is the poor man's 'assault rifle'. The Mini-14 is definitely not.
While the cheapest Mini-14 is cheaper than a good AR-15, it's more expensive than a crappy one. Higher-end Mini-14s with matte stainless finish and tactical stocks can approach $1,000.
Mini-14 accessories are more expensive than either AR-15 or AK pattern rifles, especially magazines. I can find $10 30-round AR or AK mags all day. A 30-round magazine that works well in a Mini-14 will cost $30+.
Mini-14s cost more than most AK rifles unless you get something like a Red Jacket Saiga conversion. WASR-10 rifles can be had for about half of what a Mini-14 costs, and nicer AKs will usually sell for around what the cheapest Mini-14 costs.
