Bowling Pins

The Mrs. and I went to First Monday yesterday. We like to visit the "junk" area the most, you can find some really cool stuff that you don't really "need" for a great deal on those tables. We were looking at one vendor's wares and I noticed a shoping cart full of Bowling pins for $3 each. I remembered hearing about bowling pin matches and how much fun people say they are to shoot. I walked away with a case of ten for $20. By the way huffin' a full set of bowling pins a 1/2 mile back to the truck in 100+ heat in the direct sun is TUFF.
I've got my own range, just don't go much in this heat. For those with experience, what are some good ways to waste some $2 bowling pins? I though about using them instead of B27's for practicing drills.
Thoughts, suggestions?
