ATF Intimidates Gun Owners With Home Visits

According to several gun dealers in Austin as well as one of our own staff members, the ATF is visiting people’s homes, demanding to be allowed inside without a warrant, and implying that gun owners could be terrorists for purchasing two or more firearms at a time.

Interesting that this is already being reported and the reporting requirement for long arms does not go into effect until August 14. Something is definitely out-of-whack here, whether it is ATF and what they are up to or "reporters" with agendas. I am all for limited government -- and government intrusiveness -- but I kinda wonder if this is not part of a smear ATF campaign due to the timing. Yet another thing that I am not sure what to make of...

Ask them if they have a warrant. If the don't tell the to leave, close the door Then call the cops and tell them that there are a bunch of guys here claiming to be from ATF wanting to come in my house, but they refuse to produce a warrant and report them for trespassing on your land.

Smear ATF campaign? not really a need to smear; obviously they can't even wipe, I mean clean up after themselves.

Actually, ATF did the same tactic in 2009, they just have renewed energy now
See:
Is the ATF Harassing Gun Owners in Texas Without a Warrant?

The ATF is going into gun shops and combing through the records of recent gun sales and then harassing the people who made those purchases.

The ATF is also interviewing people about their neighbors for no reason and asking them about any “suspicious” gun purchases that their neighbors might have made.

I agree that they are doing a fantastic job on themselves right now. I could see some folks jumping on the bandwagon, though, or forwarding their political agenda at an opportune time -- whether real facts back them up or not.

I certainly don't know the full story, and ATF may be already stepping into the can of worms as reported. I suspect we will know more soon.

They are just "renewing their efforts" to harass purchasers, though they know where these came from >>>the walked fast n furious and State Dept guns ................. but for distraction, but they're investigating those sold legally to law abiding people .......... again

Eh, I doubt it. They should be part of the Department of Redundancy Department... If they're a tax agency, that's the IRS's job; if they're a law enforcement agency, that's the FBI's job. They need to go away. Even if all their employees were just rehired by the IRS & FBI, it would still be an improvement. Their field agents would have to operate under the same laws and policies as every other LEO, which simplifies life for everyone.
