Local Gun Shop in small town up here in North Texas had a NIB Henry Big Boy Model H006M .357 Mag/.38 Special in the rack for less than all GA & GB prices!

Haven't shot it yet, but cycled 10 rounds of .38 Special WWB FMJ thru it like butter!

Best fit and finish of any lever action I have seen or owned!
I am quite happy with the purchase. Reports say that it will shoot better than I can see. :smilelol5:

The walnut on this standard grade Henry is amazing!

The picture is not actually mine (stock pic), but they all look this good!

Congrats! Butter is the perfect way to describe these guns. I love mine!

You'll like it. I have one in 44 mag/spl and it shoots as good as it looks. It's great as a saddle gun and has replaced my 30/30 in that role.

Can't go wrong with a .357 lever gun! My Marlin 1894c is the only gun my wife enjoys shooting. I'm pretty fond of it as well.

I hope you have a matching .357 revolver of some sort. I'd still love to get a nice 4 inch S&W to go with my lever.

Yep.

I had a Marlin (a real one - JM) 1894C that was only made 2 years with the gold plated trigger and like a nut, I sold it. It was a nice little rifle. But hard to load (always pinching fingers). I gotta say though it was a bit lighter than this Henry at over 8lbs!

Come to think about it, I had the 1894CSS as well but it was a current production (REP) and not near the quality of the older Marlins (JM).

The octagon barrel on this model is very thick and the gun is sometimes referred to as a 3 & 1/2 foot crowbar! But that makes the recoil much less and accuracy on target much better. I like the tube feed on this one too.

I think I am really going to enjoy this.

I had a New Vaquero that I also sold but may look around for a 4" Smith (no Lock) later on when I get a few more retirement checks! :smilelol5:

I love the fact that it's 9lbs... keeps the .44mag somewhat sane. "rlol"

I too have the .44mag golden boy and it is great. Now, I just have to get the horse to put it on. :smilelol5:

Well, a steel horse - yes, but I can't ride around with my Henry strapped to my Hayabusa. Wait! I can. Oh great, now I'm trying to think of ways to do that.

The same way they held them on a horse in a scabbard or sheath of some sorts. I'm sure the stock would protrude in the worst areas though...

Throw a leather scabbard on that bad boy.
