2006 was a slow year for adding new states with reciprocity. Based on my very
CASUAL research it seems that only Kansas is likely to be added in 07.
Please tell me why I'm wrong

!! And make your predictions for the additions to the reciprocity map at the end of 07.

I think we could see Ohio added this year. Gov Taft is being replaced with a more gun friendly Gov in Jan. I also hope we pick up Kansas and Iowa which get CCW this year.
EDIT: I meant Nebraska not Iowa is picking up CCW this year.

I think it may start to be slim pickin's...
As long as they at least stay away from those states we get when we get our Utah non-res permits...At least for the next 5 years...
Just kidding...
If they do, I am so going to get lectured from the "Wife Unit"...

I pray that we will very soon have a year when no states are added to our reciprocity list.
Because our license is valid in all 50 states. (Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

<Homer Simpson> All 50 States.....Ohhhhhhh </Homer Simpson>
I'm hopeful that eventually we will at least have 40 to 45 states. But it may be a few mores years yet.
Here's hoping that 07 is a good year for reciprocity!

I read on another board that the Ohio Senate voted to override the veto, so Ohio's CCW laws will be changed. No more plain view in a car and no more municipalities banning CCW or making any law above and beyond state law regarding guns/carry. Good job Ohio! Now we'll have to see if that impacts reciprocity with Texas.
edited to add: Oops. It was this board in the Other States section that I read about the Ohio senate overriding Taft's veto.

Another state that we really need to add is New Hampshire. I have no idea why we don't have reciprocity yet with them. Ohio, Kansas, and Minnesota are all possibilities as well. And one can carry in several of the states that don't honor the TX permit with a Utah permit.
Even without a Utah permit we can carry concealed in 29 states (including Vermont) with just a TX CHL, and that is pretty good.

Just in case you don't already know. New Hampshire will issue you a Non-Resident CC permit for $20. All you need is a copy of your Tx CHL and then fill out one of their applications
here
It only gives you New Hampshire, but if you need it, it's worth it.

I got mine several years ago, when it gave me 5 extra states.
Since then, Texas has picked up all except NH.
Never been to NH. Not sure I could find it on a map.

NH is my future home (in a couple of years or so, when I can transfer). The NH laws governing issuance of a license don't require a background check, which also hinders reciprocity. (Well... technically NH licensees are vouched for by the police chief, but that can range from an NCIC check, all the way to the chief saying, "Yeah, I know him. He's okay.")
