Too early to say, but 100% chance to be a named storm:

We need rain on the coast too, we don't need a tropical storm/hurricane. I still haven't gotten everything back in shape from Ike.

Yeah, we need some rain, but not too much nor too little, just right and 150 MPH wind does not help.

Yes, given how stressed the trees are around Houston, I can imagine a strong blast of wind would bring down even more trees than Ike did.
But rain... yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

There'sa 60% chance of rain Thursday or Friday. Cooler temps down to the higher 80"s. Better get your fire wood ready!!

Light sprinkles around here in North Dallas this morning, that was a nice change. I am so very very thankful that the weather is going to be cooler this next weekend. My wife and I are traveling to San Antonio for our yearly Labor Day Vacation, she is preggers and I was worried she would be super miserable if it was still in the 100's. Lets hope the cooling trend sticks around and we get some extra rain thrown in the mix too.

The possibility of some relief is in sight for DFW... Fingers crossed.
It's beginning to look like fall around here with so many trees losing their leaves from the drought.

We actually had about 15 minutes of rain this morning in Grapevine. And I believe that the weather report here is calling for showers on Saturday and Sunday...................you know..... the days you usually go to the range?

...got a tiny bit of fairytinkle on the windshield...but the clouds are helping and there's a slight breeze...so I won't be too hot washin' the mud off the windshield...

I don't think a lot of folks out there, realize just how bad we do need the rain. These lakes are going down fast. We need to all be serious about conserving what we have right now. We may have a wet fall and winter, but then again we may not and we can't depend on it.

It's good training, unless you only carry in good weather.

I have already conserved all summer. Dead areas of grass in front yard and most of back yard. Just watered enough to save the trees. The grass will make a comeback if we start getting rain again.

Ditto here. I'm not sure I got enough water into our biggest maple. It sure has been hard to balance giving the tree enough water to survive versus making the water bill look like a house payment.
