I went there today to pick up a multimeter with my S&W 442 in pocket.

No anti-gun signs of any kind were seen, and everything went as smooth as carrying in H.E.B. or elsewhere.

I was expecting the worst based on what I've read about others' experience at Fry's.

Went to a different location a couple of weeks ago. If they had signs, they weren't prominent enough for me to notice.

Walked in, got what I needed, and walked out.

What's the problem? Surely, no one is not trying to fix something that ain't broke?

My head is spinning.

Is a triple negative a negative or a positive?

I'd never heard anything bad about Fry's regarding this?

i goto frys all the time in houston area. Ive never seen any gun signs at any of them. Personally the one on 59 isnt all that safe. It is next to a really bad area.I would carry personally. and besure to lock your car with nothing valuable showing.

:iagree:
I've heard a LOT of bad things about Fry's, but nothing about their gun policies. :banghead:

Including a guy who bought a hard drive from them, got it home and discovered the contents had been replaced with an old used drive MUCH smaller than what it was supposed to be. (Obviously, somebody had upgraded their drive, then returned the old one in the box.) When the guy explained the problem (after waiting in several lines), Fry's accused HIM of trying to pull a switch.

Fry's gun policies are NOT the problem at Fry's!

Somewhere I had read that many of the store had improper 30.06 type signs. This may have been a few years ago.

FWIW, there are no entries for them on http://www.texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The only time I've had any dealings with Fry's was about 10 years ago at the store on I-45 N in Houston. They had non-compliant "no weapons" signs and some HPD cars parked in the parking lot with officers inside the store and in the parking lot. From this I deduced it might be a high crime area. :evil2:

I bought a PC from them that lasted a good long time. Decent customer service, no complaints.

Never a problem with carry at Fry's. That said, if you go in KNOWING there is no customer service, you'll be okay. The "resealed" stuff in my experience is always reduced in price. My latest vid card was such a purchase and it was missing an SLI cable but since I run a single card it did not matter and the price was nearly 25% off.

We did buy a refrigerator there and had good service during and after the sale. Delivery guys were excellent. Soooo, it's a mixed bag. I tend to know my way around my gadgets so I deal with them fairly regularly.

As to the disk thing, they are supposed to bench test all returns and should have caught the switcheroo.

The one I deal with is in Coppell.
