So, if I understand, Mexican authorities illegally crossed the border, and may or may not have fired upon and stole personal property of the American citizens legally on the American side of the border -- and the solution is to restrict the activities of the Americans? Does that about sum it up?

I know the yellow signs were meant as political humor, but the first one seemed pretty genuine to me. AND, it also seems like our government, whose FIRST job is to secure this nation, is basically abandoning parts of it to criminals. That seriously makes me consider just what were those twenty years I spent in the military service really worth...it feels like a slap in the face. I am TRULY sickened by that sign and the attitude of "oh well, what can we do" that got it put there in the first place.

Patriot I agree & have been imbarraced for yrs when I see a Vet. There are still a few of us that are really doing everything we know to do.

On a similiar note, we have thought about a trip to Big Bend N.P., but when you read how dangerous our border is, it concerns you to even go there.

Close. I would tend to discount the Official story that there was no evidence of shots fired nor property stolen. Under current DHS leadership they tend to disburse lies as official statements.

While I agree with you in spirit, I certainly wouldn't counsel anyone to take that tactic. Now, shooting back as self-defense, of course. But, if you did manage to "remove" several or all of those folks (even if they fired on you first) and did anything to cover it up, the current Department of IN-Justice is going to nail you to the wall. They care MUCH MORE about Mexican National officers than they do about any "regular joe" American citizen. These administration folks will bend over backwards, hosing anyone who makes it look like our nation has a spine against foreign aggression. I know I probably post this kind of thing way too much, but I just get so frustrated with the lack of intestinal fortitude of this administration, and a lot of politicians in general...and I'd hate to see some "regular joe" get into trouble over that fact.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. Why would you be embarrassed (I guess that's what you really meant to say) when you see a veteran? Their job isn't to guard the border. So why would that embarrass you? I would think most 'patriots' would rather say "thank you for your service" to a vet, or am I all wet, here. (And no, that wasn't a pun)

That's why the final step is so important. However, I hear it's acceptable to skip the middle step in some circumstances. As the philosopher J. Wales notes, the Cathartidae require sustenance and, in that sense, are not unlike the Oligochaeta.
