As most, I use Facebook to keep in touch with Friends and Family, and during the one of the IDPA matches I was videoed, and posted it, most family / friends know that I do the matches, and enjoyed seeing what I love to do. I have Being trying to get a few family to join me.. It always a lot fun to have friends/family with the same hobby.. ... But what surprised me, was a friends spouse that has several guns, never heard of IDPA and asked if I was a COP.. I have never met this person, except at a wedding (lives in Missouri ) I have no Idea that someone would think this of me...I never intend to portray this... But, the good thing is that person is going to look for some matches up there.. A little IDPA promo..

Actually, a few years ago one of my students googled me and found a relative by the same name who was an "intelligence" person, and wanted to know if I was a spy.

My kids actually used to tell people I was a spy...not sure why. I think they kind of believed it. I guess it was because I was on strange and rotating night shifts for a couple of years and they only saw me for an hour or two at a time (hated that period of time!!!!!! )

Most people have no idea I carry, and I intend to keep it that way.

Many years ago, my niece was convinced that my brother (her Dad), was Batman. The more he denied it, the more convinced she was. I don't think that counts, however.

I am an Arab, born in Lebanon and I am Canadian too. Many of my Arab buddies who know that I own and carry a gun, "believe, think or have a doubt" that I am an FBI.
They are all afraid, if they purchased a firearm while on a green card, let alone having a CHL, would get them in trouble when they apply for Citizenship.
They are all afraid of being called "violent" immigrants or have such tendencies or interest in firearms.
Since I do what the they are afraid of, they "believe, think or have a doubt" that I am an FBI.

BTW, in many places, only under cover agents carry concealed, just to name few places, NY city and Illinois.

Them, and the "private detectives" (in IL you can get a concealed carry license if you are) and NY City's exceptions are legion.

Yes , I am being an intelligent burro. But i only resort to such pranks because I can't type , or think, fast enough to make any real contribution to a serious conversation. Or a serious contribution to an imaginary conversation
