Left handed AR users

So now that I've got a stripped lower on the way, I've been watching the brownells assembly videos and doing some research.

I have some experience shooting ARs and was never a huge fan of the safety location/mag release.

Are there any options for left handed users besides the standards?

Stag left handed upper.

In hindsight, I think I would have preferred a left handed upper, but that wasn't in the budget when I built my first carbine. That said, I do have an ambidextrous safety on mine. I got mine from Midway USA: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?p ... ber=217314, $28.99 by DPMS.

Thanks guys. Gigag, I'm not too concerned about brass ejection, because my AKs throw brass in front Of my face too.

Tam, thanks. That safety looks good. One of the things AR guys always talk about is the ease of safety use without taking a hand off the rifle. As a lefty I wasn't sure how easy that was going to be for me.

Its still easy with the tip of you finger or your thumb depending on your grip hand. There is also an ambi bolt release available.

I've seen the ambi bolt release, but I actually don't have a problem using the original one.

...though I'm a lefty, I'm right-eye dominant...I'd check that first...I just shoot a long gun from the right shoulder...lots cheaper than modificatin'...

Thats the rub! I'm mainly right handed (writing, eating, pistols) but left eye dominant. I also bat and golf left handed. I'm just weird I guess.

...I couldn't shoot or swing a bat lefty for money...but I'm right eye dominant...my right hand don't wanna play...don't feel lonesome...

I am right handed but left eye dominant. I also cannot close my left eye without closing both eyes (not good for shooting!). I shoot left handed but installed the ambi-mag release.

Learn to shoot with both eyes open! The only time I close an eye is if I'm using a scope over 4X.

Handguns: I shoot handguns with both eyes open and right handed.

Rifle with iron sights: I am so left eye dominant that if I try and shoot right handed with both eyes open I cannot see the sights.

EoTech: I can shoot either side both eyes open.

Scope: if I close one eye have to shoot left handed.
