The dog needs to go... but both those two ladies are going to knock "Sons of Guns" into reruns...

I think Red Jacket wins in a firefight, but the Wyatts will win over the Home & Garden crowd.
The good news is that both shows are a reflection of Americas growing MAINSTREAM interest and enthusiasm for firearms.

I have to admit, I'm quite torn on at least giving this show a try. Rich Wyatt and his crew have a really bad rep for carrying out less than moral business practices. Based on principle, I really don't want to watch a show that helps out a bunch of scummy folks. I wonder why these guys were chosen out of the thousands of reputable shops, and then It occurred to me that they may have been intentionally chosen to create more "drama" and controversy.

I generally feel that the more gun friendly programs we have on TV to expose the public to the better. The ratings from Top Shot and Sons of Guns tell the tale that there is really a huge interest among the general public for firearms. Television will never be perfect nor please everyone...

Alas, I still don't know if I can at least watch one episode of this show. We'll see; hope for the best...".

They have problems with engraving/etching their logo onto weapons having custom work done, with not even mentioning it to the customer. They also seem to have multiple accounts of folks who've requested specific parts be placed on their gun's only to pick the gun up and find it has completely different parts of inferior quality placed on it - one gent even purchased the parts he wanted to be installed (from other vendors), dropped them off at the shop along with the gun and instructed the Smith of what he wanted. When he picked it up - nothing on it was right, and when he questioned the clerk about it he was told "The smith probably thought these parts were better". These seem to be common stories from folks that have done business with them. Guns have been "lost" by them as well.

There are also stories of generally ripping folks off by not telling them of their "no refund" policy for both various wares and training classes. Apparently most people in the area know to steer far clear from them. Mr. Wyatt "sold" a pistol to a woman before running the background check - meaning she paid for it before he ran the check, and it then he ran it. It turns out she did not pass the check, and stated he would not refund the money for the weapon but that he would rather sell the pistol on consignment for her minus a large consignment fee. The legal ramnifications of that still boggle my mind.

Just a few links that get a bit more in-depth with some of the above mentioned issues*:

* Some links are to forum threads, which means you may have to sift through some of the posts to find 1st hand accounts, etc.

Wow, I would think with that many issues they would have their own small claims courtroom. Seems an Attorney General would have a field day with business practices of the such.

As far as the show the girls are easy to look at for sure, but as with Sons of Guns there is way to much overacting. But any positive light on civil firearm ownership with responsibility is AOK with me.

Popcorn and Top Shot tonight. My boys and I never miss it. Time for Jake to go.

1) That's next season's new show -- "American Lawsuit"

2) Unfortunately for everybody else, Jake's attitude is as bad as his shooting is good!

It's probably going to be a train wreck and as hard to look away. Good for the network's ratings I guess.
