Wow !! Even still I would bet that nothing comes from this. The current administration has become expert in getting a free pass.

The momentum is building, you may be proven wrong. I hope.

EDIT: "SCATHING" is the only way to describe Issa's letter to Holder... You can read and/or download it here..

They are all liars! That's how they get elected. The sad part is that we keep falling for their lies and electing them over and over.
The lying politicicians are not the problem, the problem is with an electorate who hears what they want to hear and votes accordingly.

Term limits for ALL elected and government offices would go a long way toward separating the wheat from the chaff. Just sayin...

Not to put too fine a point on it, but term limits would actually throw out both the chaff AND the wheat.

I _do_ agree, however, that term limits are a great way to put a cap on career politicians. Then again, I consider repealing the 17th amendment to be much more important.

Good! Maybe soon we can start the trial for lying under oath.

But no, he'll probably get to live off a federal pension (ie our tax dollars) as a reward to sending guns to mexican cartels that cost American lives and then lying about it.

Sickening isnt it?

Yes, it is. You know what else, his boss knew about it also.

Why would you want to do away with direct election of Senators by popular vote?
Maybe you meant the 16th (Federal income tax ;-) )? Maybe MY list is wrong?

For me..... I'd like to see the tax code down to one small paperback and the "Commerce Clause" reigned in by a clearly written Amendment. [sorry for the OT]

I agree with regard to the 16th needing to be repelled, all it does it to help redistribute wealth from those who earn it to those who don't. I also agree with repelling the 17th. Originally senators were put there to protect states rights. Perhaps it would help eliminate the vast liberal base of the population centers. Of course it could result in the opposite.

Don't really know what the ultimate effect would be. It really boils down to an illiterate, uniformed electorate that keeps putting the lying crooks in office. They also put the state political vermin in office also so there might be no difference either way.

Until the "great unwashed" actually get a decent education and start really learning history, starts questioning what they hear from our wonderfully biased media, and starts thinking for themselves, I see no improvement but only further decline. I like to tell those who think history isn't important, you can't know where you are or where you are going if you don't know where you have been. I'm looked at like I'm crazy and who knows, maybe they're right.

Edited to correct word usage.

The 17th amendment wiped out the intended design of the two legislative houses. One was to be the voice of the population (the House), the other the voice of the states (the Senate). Historically, state governments elected senators, who represented the voice of the state and functioned as genuine stewards of the contract between the states and the federal government (i.e. The Constitution). Senators still refer to themselves as the true "Guardians of the Constitution", but the meaning is genuinely lost except through tradition.

It is of my humble opinion that the 17th amendment has strongly contributed to the true loss of the state's powers, and instead has rendered states as (mostly) spectators in the mechanics of the federal government. This has completely inverted the purpose of the federal government, which was created to serve the states. Instead we now have a hierarchy, where the federal government is at the top. In fact, with the existence of the 17th amendment, you should think long and hard about this question: "Why do we need states anymore?"

So, yeah, I think your list is wrong ;-)

I'm kind of counting on him being extradited to Mexico for being an active accessory to the murder of over 200 Mexicans.

Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

That is only because the leftist media (but I repeat myself) has become expert in giving them a pass. If this were a republican administration and Holder were a conservative, you can bet your sweet bippie that they would be on it like a dog on a rawhide chew toy. The pass they are getting has nothing to do with the administration's expertise at anything.........which is severly lacking in most things.

I must agree. The leftist media's unbiased reporting of the current administration's misteps and boondoggles would be tantamount to admitting the abject folly of its earlier support for the current POTUS and, by extension, his self-serving and otherwise incompetent minions.
