Spouses with CHL

My wife just sent her CHL packet to Austin, so the wait begins. It took a lot of repeated encouragement to get it done but she finally did it. Its not that she didnt want to but did not have it on top of her priority list. I finally convinced her to make it No. 1 and she is glad she did and so am I.

My 2 girls are only 3 yrs & 8 months old. I already have a pair of Ruger 10/22 carbines for them and when they get old enough to shoot I will get them a pair of Ruger Mark III target .22's to go with them. That should be good enough to start them off on the right track.
I can't wait for them to get their CHL's!

I'm very proud that my wife carries regularly.... probably more often than I do. She became a CHL instructor in April of this year and over the last 12 months has become a very capable shooter. Nice feeling to roll with back-up.

I am working on my wife to convenience her to get the CHL. I got married later in life and have only been married a few years. (It took a long time to find a woman who could put up with me.) When I brought my bride home, that was the first time she had ever seen a gun outside of the movies.
She has learned to shoot and though she struggled with the mechanics of operating my 1911s, she eventually became very proficient with my H&K USP .40. That has become her gun and to be truthful, she is a better shot than I am. I just cannot get her to take the final step and get her CHL. The concept of carrying guns is still foreign to her, though she does not mind that I carry. I'll keep working at it.

I'm glad to see that people on this board and their SO are exercising your rights. Being from Kalifornia I am very happy to see that other parts of our country still has hope and makes me like Texas that much more!
My SO is living with two other females in an apartment back in Kalifornia and it's very difficult for them to get their CHL. However, when I go visit during thanksgiving week I will go out with my girlfriend and rent guns and hopefully she will find one that she is comfortable shooting. I will buy it for her home protection. She's shot my 1911 and my sig p226 several times and she loves them both. Now it's time for her to find a pistol to call her own. Even if she can't take it with her, at least she will have it when she is at home.

My wife is waiting for hers to come in (Took the class last month).
Mother has had hers for a year or so...
Strongly suspect my two oldest daughters, and son will go for theirs as soon as they're old enough....

My wife got her plastic last week. Our last daughter (college student) got hers about a month prior. Both took Charles Cotten's class together. Proud spouse and father here!

I keep working on wife, however due to childhood incident she is deathly afraid of guns but happy that I carry. A while back she was really sick and I had driven her mother home when she called me as I was on the way back. She had heard someone jiggling the dooorknob. I was only about seven miles from the house and broke several speeding laws on the way back. Kept her on the phone. Slid into drive, scanning the front yard. Hopped out of car and was heading around back when I spotted a chinese menu attached to the doorknob. I'm not sure if I can ever get her to fire a gun but she at least sees the value of it and I would rest better if she could defend herself when I am out.
Zombies rarely ever use the front door.

My future wife does, but ...
I haven't met her yet.
She'll have to be a better shot than I am.

Wife has her CHL.
She's an excellent shooter. Carries a S&W .38 Special with +P hollow points.
Did I mention she's an excellent shooter.....oh, I did. (That one is for me.
