Providing DL and CHL to LEO

I carry my DL/CHL and a very few other things in a little bi-fold leather thingie similar to a business card holder with the exception it has a clear window on each side in which I have my DL and CHL. My question is, for those who have had to ID as a result of a traffic stop and carry ID's in a similar manner, did the LEO want you to remove the two or did he/she just take the card holder? I have carried the two like this for about 10 years but have yet had to ID to a LEO, so I am just curious.
For me this thing replaces a wallet which I have not used in over 20/30 years.

I carry mine in a similar bi-fold around my neck, dog tag fassion. I remove everything & hand it to them.
Since they ask you to remove them from wallet I imagine they would in your case too. LEOs how bout it????

I would take it out and hand it to them. Erase all doubt. Hopefully you never have to...

I think you'll find almost universally, the LEO will ask you to remove the licenses from the wallet for a couple of reasons - the fact that they don't handle the wallet makes it harder for someone to allege that they removed something (ca$h) from the wallet, and it makes overlaid stuff (like a little sticker over a birthdate - the way kids tried to change their birthdays back 'in the day before they were legal to drink) easier to detect, as well as making it easier to detect a counterfeit license that doesn't "feel and weigh" like the real thing.
At least that was my experience when I used to do that sort of thing a long, long time ago... in a galaxy far removed from this one (or at least it seems that way).

Yeah, they usually ask you to remove it and then they can see if the picture pasted on at the Flea Market falls off
I do the same with a small credit card thingy I carry in shirt pocket so I'm not reaching where he can't see.
The time I got pulled over for niece wearing seat belt improperly ... by the time officer got to my window, my car was off, keys and card holder(wallet) were on dash, window down,...license, CHL and Insurance in my hand, hands on wheel.
He never asked to see CHL/License/Insurance ... no ticket/verbal warning to niece on how to wear it properly and lots of smiles.
Had it been dark, dome light would have been on too.
My hands never go below window level. (in shirt pocket)

If people like Wal-Mart ask you to remove your ID from any holder the PO is likley going to ask you to do so as well.

I'm retired but when I was on the job I always ask for the DL to be removed and handed to me alone (before CHL). I never excepted a wallet or case of any kind. Just keeps everything in prespective.

many departments now scan the DL to harvest the information for the ticket/report, in this case, out would be easier
in addition, most still use some sort of Saunders clipboard that have the little tab at the top that works PERFECTLY to slide a DL, CHL, or other ID under while writing ticket/report.....again, out is easier

I have never been stopped where the officer did not want it out of the wallet or holder.
