I'd like to see them hosted elsewhere, but short of American peasants armed with torches and pitchforks throwing them out, they'll never leave. The much more realistic approach is for Congress to issue an ultimatum: "Not one red cent for construction until you have a final plan and cost estimate. We refuse to hold American taxpayers hostage your organization's inability to manage a budget or a simple building contract. When you have some FINAL numbers, we will pay our share. But until you can control burgeoning costs, we will not be held hostage to your incompetence.

I think we should let them stay, but only because I hope the NSA and CIA has those buildings filled with more bugs than a third world hotel.

But the USA should insist on paying our fair share of funding instead of the lion's share. What's fair? What does the average country pay? They get the same vote in the General Assembly we do.

Well, if we went by the "occupy" bunch's rationale we should pay the biggest amount since we are the big boy on the block. I wonder what their opinion would be about sending money to the UN vs. paying more US taxes.

The major difference would be location of the building/s. The money that we'd save could be used to speed them on their way to the 79 virgin place.

Seems it's worked for the "Hill" why wouldn't the U.N. Think it's their turn? Heck, they've been raping the U.S. Taxpayers for decades without so much as a whimper from us. Their usefulness has outlived their productivity. For the most part they are a bloated parasitic tick who's sense of self importance and entitlement has ballooned to the point that they feel they are the voice of reason and all should bow and marvel at they're collective pontification. (Much like Obama) But I digress...

They deserve exactly the same amount as the median amount from us IF it is viable, a cost effective endeavor and benefits us to do so...
