Unfortunately, the first news story is archived. Basically a man says he saw a man burglarizing his car and he went out and confronted the burglar from his driveway and then the burglar attacked him, so he shot in defense of his life. No arrest, no charges.

Then, there was this story: http://www.elpasotimes.com/ci_19339235" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"A prominent local attorney who has defended several high-profile murder suspects is himself accused of shooting and killing another man.

Police said Matthew DeKoatz, 53, shot Ben Josef Miller, 32, on Saturday after confronting Miller, who was allegedly trying to burglarize DeKoatz's vehicle in the 400 block of Texas Avenue in Downtown El Paso.

Miller was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. It is not known if Miller was armed."

Then, this: http://www.elpasotimes.com/newupdated/ci_19356407" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"Melissa Miller said her brother wasn't armed during the altercation. Police have released few details about the incident, including why Ben Miller was in El Paso, but Melissa Miller said she believes her brother was in El Paso against his will."

In the comments on the articles, the family of the dead alleged burglar claim that he was taken to EP against his will by cartels and then they dumped him in front of their lawyer's house so the lawyer could kill him and claim self defense.

The bad grammar, spelling and punctuation, along with the generally bad attitude of the family members toward others in the comments doesn't lend much credibility to their claims, but who knows.

This one's getting weirder by the minute.

That's so much easier than killing him in the boonies and leaving the body for the local fauna. :roll:

That doesn’t make any sense at all.

The cartels don’t need a lawyer to kill someone and claim self defense. If they want someone dead they can make it happen and the body never be found.

Sounds like someone is grasping at straws.
