Been reading this board on and off this past couple of months, as I finally decided to take the plunge and get my CHL. Online app complete, CHL class and prints done last week... just waiting for some certified records from a couple of county clerks (couple of my youthful indiscretions

) before I send the rest of my packet in. Hopefully these arrive by Tuesday, and the wait will start soon. I imagine since I do have a record, this might delay things a bit? It will take as long as it takes, I suppose, and want to have some time to get good and cozy with my new G27 before I start carrying it anyways!
Don't really have any other questions (or answers) for that matter, but have thoroughly enjoyed the discussions on here, and am looking forward to participating in the future. Despite being in a Glock "phase" right now, but I am not entirely sold on the Glock as my permanent carry at this point, so am always reading about different personal takes and reviews....but this probably has a lot to do with always wanting to add another piece to my collection! My wife still rolls her eyes when I show up at the house with something else, but she is heroically understanding!
Best to you all....
Brad

Welcome to the forum.
Here's a few words about Glocks. I chose them because they are simple and work. They are not pretty and they don't need to be. Within the same caliber, mostly, the magazines are interchangeable (i.e. the larger ones will fit in the smaller gun). I'm in the midst of a transformation from .40 to .45, but when I carried my G27 I would carry two 15 round mags for spares that also fit in my G22. When I get around to getting the G30 I will makes sure that my 13 round .45 mags fit in it. It seems there is a little bit of a difference between some of the .45 mags.

G27
Best accessory for the money: Pearce PG-39
about $6.00 or so online
They will add three rounds to the Glock M26,
two rounds to the Glock M27
These units will add 1" additional length for better control and comfort.

The same can also be added to the longer mags for an increase in capacity, but
the real value is the pinky rest on a 26/27/39 ... and the extra couple rounds
These are so much better than the factory Glock +2 ones (which only add 1 in a .40) and are actually smaller than Glock original extensions, (note that they slope back towards the palm, whereas Glock's are blockier) so they are easier on concealing, plus these match the Glock''s finger texture where Glock Factory originals don't.

Is that a typo, or are there "M" 26 and 27 models? I always thought they were "G".

the M just stands for
Model 26 and Model 27
Dunno why Pearce did that, but they mean for the G 26/G27
yes. Glock actually calls them G26 and G27

I bought lots of brands, and most models of Pearce grips (they sell various models, some don't increase capacity, some by 1 some by 2 some by 3 etc) PG-39 is the best for the Glock 27/27/39 I've found.
I've had Glocks since they first arrived in the States, sold my early 17s etc but hanging onto a 1980s Glock 19 just because I wish I still had my early Gen1 17s I sold way too cheap before realizing there was a collector's market lol

Thanks for all the good insight. I did pick up a Pearce extension last week....no capacity for extra rounds, just the pinky extension (don't recall the specific model number). Haven't tried it at the range, but it definitely feels like a more positive grip. Not sure how much of it is psychological, but whatever works, right?
Thanks again!

Glock also uses the M. Everyone else uses a G because if we did use an M no one would know what we were talking about.
Also, I tried the Pearce Grip extender on my G27 and didn't like it and shot better without it.

Welcome to the board. I'm fairly new too. There is a lot of good information here. I've learned more from this board in 4 months than I had the entire year since i got my CHL.

Welcome to the forum, you will find a wealth of experience and knowledge (not so much from me) from a like minded crowd. Not everyone will agree with you but I would think everyone would agree with your right to say it.

I have the extender for my G27 as well. I have found that I can conceal (with proper clothing) my G22 just as easily. So for me, full size is the way to go. But the extender did help me grip the G27 better.
