Along similar lines, many of the blue ray DVD players say they can play streaming video from Hulu, Netflix and others. Do they have a browser built in and can stream any online video content, or is it like a Roku box and you can only stream video for certain content providers where they built a special interface, and usually require an account?

Specifically, I want to be able stream TV shows from CBS. I can do that from a computer browser but Roku won't do it, so they're out of the running. So is dragging the computer from my home office to the living room every time I want to watch TV in comfort. For $100 pre-Christmas, I would buy a blue ray DVD player if it can stream as well as Chrome or IE, instead of being hamstrung like Roku. Does anyone have one of these and know?

The blu-ray player will act like a roku. It will not act as a browser for any online media. Sorry....

I have a $20,000 stereo AV setup and $11,000 in video switching and equipment (SVHS- like one JVC deck was $3,600) in storage I may not even bother to get out because of some of the digital stuff

Let's all vote and agree not to buy anything else after blu-ray "rlol"

Roku has its limitations but it does a fair job of streaming video for the sites that it does.

I went all hard drive and streaming in 2003 and never looked back. Now what to do with the 300lbs of DVD's and CD's that haven't been touched in years? If I wait too long I won't be able to find some sucker...umm I mean a buyer...
