Well, that stinks!

I just realized something tonight.
The CHL Renewal process can begin up to 6 months before your expiration date, right?
My expiration date is 5/2013. What is set to happen 6 months before that? Any wild guesses? I just hope it won't be as busy this time around - it took us almost 3 months to find a class that had space last time!

The end of the world according to the Mayan calendar in Dec 2012?

Renewal doesn't take 6 months... You can take the class in January, or February, or.... you get the idea.
Submit any time before April and you should be fine.

I think he's referring to classes filling up (gun prices escalating, ammo disappearing off the shelves, etc., etc.) in the months leading up to and following election day, in fear of an Obama victory. Of course, there is a way to keep that from happening...........hold your nose and vote republican instead of third party.
Ok, youse guys can have the thread back now.
Edited to add "from" in "keep that from happening".......which is what I meant to say.

Obama re- elected. The end of the world as we know it. Any difference? God forbid, maybe those Mayans knew something we don't.

Yes there is but it requires the GOP to nominate someone more conservative than FDR. The election is the party leadership's to win....or lose. Their nomination will tell us which they want.
As a Texan, I'm not allowed to vote in the primaries early enough for my vote to count fully.

Even so, there is still only one way to be sure.......even if the party nominates "FDR," it has to be better than Obama. FDR may have wrecked the economy, but at least he didn't try to oppose yours or my right to own and carry a gun. I know, I know. You could argue that one is not much different from the other, but at least there is
some difference. I recently posted in another thread that the democrat party lost me permanently in 1996, and that the republican party today is
"this" close to losing me today. I am very dissatisfied with the party. Even so, nobody but a republican—regardless of his stripes—has even a remote chance of beating Obama. As long as there is that chance, I'm going to back that candidate; holding my nose if I have to. I would rather have a bad republican than an even worse democrat. If it comes down to that, I will likely reregister as an independent following the election, but not before. Before the election, I am focused on beating Obama, whatever it takes.

Hi, there! Welcome to

Texas, where we don't register guns or party affiliation! You can vote in whichever primary you want regardless if you consider yourself a Republican or Democrat or Independant, and you're not obligated to vote that way in the general election. And, since we don't register that sorta thing, no one'll ever know, if you don't tell 'em!
But, I betcha ya will!

...'round here, there's a pretty good clue, since the Republicans and Democrats vote at different locations most of the time...(and we've seen black helicopters over the Republican polls a time or two...)

Yep, TAM, you nailed it.
Although, since (according to the Mayans) the world is supposed to end on my 20th anniversary, I may have bigger problems. Where do you take your wife on a date during the apocalypse, anyway?
And even though I really don't like the menu, I'll vote (generic R) in November and hope those classes won't fill up too soon, nor the guns and ammo disappear too fast.

I know it's not required, but I would reregister as an independent as an act of protest against the republican party. If they don't immediately start turning things around after the election......assuming they win.....I don't want them to take my vote (or wallet) for granted any more. But I still see them as the only ones with a reasonable chance of beating the democrat candidates.

There may be some suggestions in MHI Vendetta, although I think that was technically their honeymoon.
