Wife's Santa Fe has been dying the past 6 weeks (3 trips to shop) and Friday a coil pack died putting a nail in the coffin.
We had been looking at used Highlanders for a bit, but got a good deal on a 2012 Highlander Limited with 9 miles on it so we pulled the trigger in it. The used HLs are nearly the same price as the new ones. Couldn't be happier.

I'm sure y'all will chime in for pics. Its not super sexy...it's a nice mall mobile IMO but it drives well. I'll have a pic or two later this week.

I had a Sequoia before I traded it in for a small car for college (cheap gas, etc.). I LOVED MY TOYOTA SEQUOIA. I'm not s bit surprised you love your Highlander, and I'm glad you bought it. I bought my Sequoia brand new in 2004 when I was in the military, paid cash for it.. and got a super deal. I think I ended up paying somewhere in the neighborhood of $32,000 for it new. Anyway, 125,000 miles, and 7 years later I traded it in for my Chevrolet Cruze. Even though it was 7 years old and had over 100K miles, I still got 13 grand for the trade it--- you can't complain with Toyota value.

Also, my wife still has her 2003 Corrola. It has 150,000 miles.. I've changed the oil every 5K (mobil 1 synthetic) and the battery once. Never had any problems with it.. none.

I bought my first Toyota in 1968. A Corona. Paid $1800 for it brand spanking new! Drove it to work and everyone said, "what the heck is that?" I said, "it's a Toyota." They then repeated the question My 2000 Camry is just getting to the end of the break in period though (100k miles).

my 2003 corrola is still running strong at 156k even with a negligent and abusive owner

My wife's 2000 Camry only has 40K on it.....not quite yet broken in.

I have a 2004 Santa Fe and it's still going strong. Only thing I've ever done to it in 86,000 miles is new tires and, just last month, new brakes and battery. Yes, the brakes and battery were the original factory ones and lasted 86,000 miles.

I love my Santa Fe, but recently bought a 2011 Sonata Hybrid. I LOVE that car. I now use the Santa Fe only to drive the dogs around.

Highlanders are good cars - Camry wagons with a "lift kit"

I'm halfway thru year 7 on my Toyota Tacoma - no problems.

Our SF was fine until 115k mi. Then, literally parts started breaking like crazy.

I know a DPS guy that told me they quit buying Dodges because they won't stop. Too many of them got wrecked chasing people. He said they ran pretty good but they just don't have any brakes.

I think I'll keep the guns and ammo and canned goods and suffer with the jalopy until we have a fiscal conservative POTUS. That could be 2020 at this rate.

Oh no. The Toyota's have infected the Dodge's?
