The Backlash from This...

Post by speedsix »

...should put the show off the air...and in a public place, too...they'd have had to haul me off with chains...our heroes deserve FAR better than this...everything else should have ground to a respectful halt until their visit was over...
...that the White House wasn't represented is not surprising...and probably kept many from turning over in their graves...

This is typical film shoot behaviour. If you spend any time in the San Fernando/Hollywood area you will run across a film shoot. They act like they are gods but most people in LA know that they don't have a legal leg to stand on with most of their "demands". Film permits only give them access to an area they do not grant them god like powers to intrude on other activities or have any control over anything outside their immediate filming area. I will not hesitate to walk right on through their set in mid take or talk loudly on my phone or sit in the background going about my day no matter what they say.

The proper response to these jerks is to make sure you ruin every last one of their shots and loudly make your displeasure known. It usually results in them being a lot more cooperative and respectful and frequently quite a few c notes being placed quickly into your hand. Do not ever let these pompous jerk wads EVER intimidate you.

If you think some cops have an elitist "only ones" attitude you ain't seen nothing till you've run across a production crew in full self important mode.

What he said. Been there and done that too.

I sent an e-mail to CBS voicing my displeasure about this and that I would never watch the show. Additionally, I told them that I would boycott all CBS shows until a public apology is issued. I also sent e-mails to coca-cola, apple, GM, and bing stating I wanted them to publicly drop their sponsorship of the show or I would stop using their products as well.

I am going to ask my congressman to introduce a bill prohibiting all commercial film crews for TV or movies from filming within sight of a national cemetery or the grave of a veteran if so marked. :mad5

No offense, I'm on your side, but good luck with that since SCOTUS has basically ruled we can't even prevent those Westboro cretins from shouting incendiary rubbish within sight of veteran's funerals. Doubt we'd have much more luck stopping all-important Hollywood. :banghead:

There is no excuse for that type of behavior. People like that make me sick. This is largely what is wrong with the world, a lack of respect.

Your right, we can’t prevent it, but I can make it hurt. ;-)

The trick is to figure out what you can legally do. A while back, before one of these idiots' protests, some local citizens found where they were staying and before they left for the funeral, there were blocked in. The tow truck company just happened to be very busy and slow responding that day and couldn't make it out until well after the funeral was over.

It is down right scary the lack of respect given to those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy. Makes me even more thankful for being able to legally carry to protect not only myself, but my family as well.

Thank you to all who have served and are still serving. :patriot:
