NPR "Constitutional Convention"

NPR has a series of pseudo Constitutional Amendments on their web site that you can vote to ratify or not. Interesting interactive piece with some interesting ideas and a few out-of-left-field looney thoughts.
Then, of course, you get to THIS proposal (with current percentages):
and a propsal to appoint SCOTUS justices to nine-year terms from a non-partisan pool of qualified candidates 
....
... and MORE support than holding all elections like reality TV votes - no more polling places, just vote via text message, Twitter, FB post, etc

Yes, "we" are winning this one, but not as overwhelmingly as I'd hoped. Basically this has the same percentage of support as proposals to make all wars subject to direct vote of the general publicA well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, shall be drawn from those citizens who may keep and bear arms only after receiving proper military training.
* I vote to ratify this amendment 37%
* I do not vote to ratify this amendment 62%
