30.06 question. ??

Just a question that I should probably know the answer to but I don't. So...who says who can and can't post a 30.06 sign? Can any place post it if they want?

Also what is the point of the blue "unlicensed" sign? Criminals or people that can't carry will not care about that sign anyways. Right?

I would suggest that if there is a 30.06 sign posted, it is properly put up by whomever did it (not to say that it is the proper size, wording, etc, just that whomever put it up, had authorization.

My guess is that it takes away any wonder.
Its either blue or red.
If you go to a restaurant/bar combo that you have never been to before, and its not a chain type where you are almost certain is not 51%, how do you know what it is?
the Blue/Red signs take away that wonder.

I think you missed both of points in my questions. Lol

1) can any place post a legal 30.06 sign? Meaning if I own a gas station(I don't) and I didn't like your 2nd amendment(I love it) could I post a 30.06 sign just to keep you(with your chl) out?

2) red or blue idk. Law says you can't rob a bank but thugs do in everyday! So what's the real purpose it that sign??

Edit to add: if I go to a "restaurant/bar combo" that I've never been to and nothing is posted I'd walk in just like I'd walk into best buy.

Any private busisness can post a 30.06 sign. The only restrictions that CAN'T post one, or at least legally enforce one, is a state government building that isn't already prohibited by Texas Penal Code 46.035

If you carry a handgun into a location that sells alcohol for on or off premise consumption the violation is higher than if you carry into a business that doesn't. The sign is also a way for licensed hangun carriers to know that the location is not a 51% location (if they have teh right sign posted) and legal for CHL's to carry.

Yup. And as far as the blue "Unlicensed Possession" signs go, I think the TABC requires them to be posted wherever alcohol is sold. You see them at grocery stores that sell alcohol and liquor stores and restaurants. You could also see a 30.06 sign at the same location, but if they aren't all that bright they will probably think the other sign will keep all guns out and won't bother putting up or even learning about the 30.06 sign.
