I'm buying new bike tires online, and looking to save on the $50 install fee.
Anyone near BCS got a tire changer and/or balancer?

If you can get the tires off/on the bike yourself, a set of tire irons are pretty cheap.
I do my own dirt tires and pay the local shop to do the street bike because I don't have a stand for the front.
Just take some care to keep from scratching the rims. I use a cut-up plastic bottle between the rim and the irons in a pinch.
Also, a buddy picked up an empty 55 gallon drum and uses it as a wheel rest. The hub/sprocket sits inside the drum, the rims are outside. Keeps the wheels from being scratched on the ground. I just use a tarp.
