Hey guys, the question I had and ive been trying to look up everywhere is for how long is the training valid for?...a while back, I took a class for a certain license and they packaged in the CHL license..for like 50$ more they gave us the CHL license as well, anyways, the other license i got the main one was for a new job, well long story short, ive had the training certificate thing for longer than 6 months, I took the class 5/18/11 and because of my new job and relocating and such Ive had no time to actually apply and all that, till now, is the training certificate still valid?...if its not do i have to retake it again? completely?....thanks for your time guys!

Off the top of my head, I think it's a year. However, best to go to the source here:

The first CHL-100 is good for 2 years, but all renewal CHL-100s are good for only 6 months. As Texas Dan noted however, if you applied with DPS online, then the fee you paid is only good for one year. If you wait over a year, you can still use the CHL-100, but you have to pay the fee again.

The CHL 100 form being the form that says "Certificate Of Training Form"? and yeah its checked as Original at the bottom, Nice forums by the way, the place you linked its just to apply isnt it?...or if i follow through with the application it tells me if its good or not? my thought is i dont wanna pay the fee to txdps if the training form isnt valid anymore, I ask because i talk to a friend and he said it was good for just 6 months...would puts me right over the limit, but thanks, ill follow through with the application where you linked and it hopefully lets me know if its valid, thanks for your time, Also as i kept reading the form and it does say CHL 100 at the bottom, my bad guys, again thanks very much for your time and sorry if Im asking obvious questions!

Rule 6.12 wrote: (1) Evidence of proficiency. The applicant must submit evidence of proficiency, as defined by §6.11 of this title (relating to Proficiency Requirements) reflecting the successful completion of a handgun proficiency course approved by the department and taught by a certified handgun instructor. Evidence of proficiency submitted by an original applicant will not be accepted by the department if it is more than two years old. Evidence of proficiency submitted by a renewal applicant will not be accepted by the department if it is more than six months old.
