According to the list Utah didn't make it because it doesn't have a live fire requirement.

That list was a bit odd. Alaska passed, but New York didn't as New York didn't have a training requirement.
Alaska has a training requirement?

Some of the states where you can carry without a permit have permit requirements that allow for reciprocity and NICS bypass. Maybe Alaska is one of those. I don't know and I didn't find the answer quickly.

I believe that is the case with Alaska. You may carry without a permit, or you may go through the process and obtain a permit.

So are there any laws in Kansas that we, as Texas CHL holders, should be aware of?

Just checked here:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rocity.htm
But I guess we have to wait for Texas to sign off on Kansas.
So, is it "really official"? Should I update this:
http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... php?t=4738
Or wait until Texas reciprocates?

At this point, it's unilateral recognition. It's not reciprocal until both AGs sign the agreement.
That's just a technicality, though. We've got "mutual unilateral recognition" with a couple of states, I think, where no formal reciprocity agreement has been signed.
Going down the list, I noticed a couple of oddities and inconsistencies.

Yep, that list does make you scratch your head a bit...
But heck, maybe we need to make a few phonecalls to Greg Abbott's office next week...
Tell him, "Git on it Hoss!"
Kinda funny that another state cut us off at the pass on this one...
Ehhh, somebody's going to have to update the map again...

Even though Abbott hasn't "inked" the paper yet, I updated the diagram:

Am I counting it right? We can only carry in 30 states, total, on a Texas CHL? We need to work on that, and find out why we are excluded..

this doesn't look official
http://www.ksag.org/
http://www.kansas.gov/ksag/
Someone may be spoofing the Kansas AG's site
I got this from my google search of the .gov site
Your search - "Recognition of other states" site:
http://www.kansas.gov/ksag/ - did not match any documents.

The domain ksag.org is registered to the Kansas Attorney General's office. It could be spoofed, but someone doing that would be playing with fire for no good reason.
