I am building an AR for my Dad. He is a lefty and wants a lefty upper. I know Stag makes the only mainstream option available. I have heard Noveske will build you one, but he is not looking to spend that kind of money. My question is does anyone know of a good place to order Stag uppers from. We have not pinned down a model number yet, but just looking in general. Its going to get built over the next month or so and any help is appreciated.

You can order directly from Stag Arms or have a local gunshot order for you. I got a mod 8 from them a few weeks ago. Talked to my local gun store, told them the model and options I wanted and they placed the order.

Who did you order yours from? And did you pay MSRP or did they give you a break?

I went to The Arms Room in League City. I originally went to get the FFL info that I needed to order directly from Stag Arms. They offer to order directly from Stag. Saved me a few bucks. Below the price that was listed at Stag and no FFL transfer fee. Had to pay sales tax, which I am not sure I would have had to had I ordered directly from Stag. But even with the sales tax it was still less.

Thanks for the reply and info. I keep hearing about the Arms Room and have yet to go by there. I'll give them a call.

I bought my Stag 2TL at a gun show in Pasadena a few years ago. It was below list. I still see them at shows but they sell fast.

Since an AR upper is not considered a firearm you can purchase one over the internet and not pay any sales tax or FFL transfer fee. I have many customers who have us get them the lowers and then complete their builds this way while saving some money

I Purchased Stag lefty at the Gun Show in October.
The guy kept it under the table, but he saw me handling a few right-hand ones as a lefty and said "I have one with a left-handed upper". It took me a second for it to sink in that he actually had one I could look and and handle. About a half hour later I walked out with it
Get there early and ask - maybe someone will have one

The problem is I'm looking for a specific upper listed on their website.

I'm almost certain I will not find it sitting on a table at a local gun show. I was looking for a local stag dealer that might sell under MSRP.

I purchased a left handed Stag 15 Mod 3 at the last Pasadena gun show (Jan 2012) from Texas Tachtical Weapons on Gulf Freeway. Paid 850 plus tax which came out to $920 which is the same price that Stag web page has it for pre tax. Since I shoot left I've always wanted a left handed rifle, so, I bought not one but two. The Stag and a 7mm Remmington 700. Found the 700 on here for a good price.
I love the web pages that tell you to just learn to shoot right handed or shoot the right handed rifle left handed. I guess they never had a hot shell casing go down their shirt like I did shooting prone in the Army. I thought I was shot.
Good luck on finding what you need. Texas Tachtical did have several at the show.
