I changed jobs after online application... what do I do?

I filled out my online application a couple months ago and just sent in my paper work on Monday. Then it hit me...
I just started a new job on Monday Jan 9th, 2012 the same day I mailed in my paperwork. Do I need to contact DPS and let them know of the change in job status?
I was at my last job for 5 years and the job before that was 4 years. I listed everything accurately on the application but I just don't know what to do about this new job I just started.
Thanks.

...I would write up a short letter about it, and put my application number on it, and send it to Austin...it will find your packet and should not cause you a problem...to leave it as is, could...

I gave them a call to ask what the best route would be for updating my application.
The lady informed me to just fill out the new contact form on their webpage with the new employment information. She said this is the recommended way to make any and all contact with DPS regarding application inquiries and updates.
For anyone who needs this information the link is:
https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Chose 'Concealed Handgun' in the pulldown list and fill our the required fields and make any comments.

I'm up for renewal this year and had forgotten about putting my employer on the application. Why do we need to do that?

I'm sure it's part of the overall background check. Background checks include everything from previous residencies, employment history, criminal history and sometimes financial/credit history. I think DPS does everything but the Credit/Financial history.
Why they need it is a good question. I think it is just to show you are honest and accurate on the application and not trying to hide anything. But that's just a guess.
