Ok, looking for some good (or least humorous) suggestions on how best to carry while jogging. I take the dogs out for their daily snuffle and we get off onto some pretty isolated trails. Because we go for quite a distance I usually wearing jogging clothes or workout apparel. Being somewhat rounder than in my youth, my pants tend to sag and the weight of even my little pistol accentuates the problem. Sweatpants just dont have the beltloops I need for a good leather belt, so I am trying to determine what to use. Perhaps a belt pack? I could use one that would carry the poop bags and a water bottle. Anyone have experience with a belt pouch?

I usually wear a NAA .22 mag with the pocket clip. No experience with a belly band though. I have heard good things about them.

There are all sorts of options, from a belly band or minimalist shoulder holster, to a waist pack or camelback holster. A waist pack is cliché these days but it can be a decent choice in the right circumstances.

I use the SmartCarry holster for jogging. It stays in place well and can be placed either in front as it was designed for, or rotated around to sit on your strong side.

I have tried several fanny packs, but have found this one to work best. I jog at odd times, so carrying is a must. It moves a little while jogging, but I just make it tight and seems to work fine for me. I jog with my favorite pistol, Glock 17.

I use a camelback to carry my water and my S&W 642 in the little zip-up pocket. Not the fastest retrieval system, but much closer than leaving it at home and no hassle to carry. At times I've also just wrapped my shirt around the 642 in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster and held it muzzle down in my left hand. Looks like I just got hot too hot for my shirt and conceals the weapon well enough that no one's ever bothered me about it.

There is a company that makes a holster for bike riders & joggers. I have seen the video but cant remember the name. I thought it looked pretty good. I dont jog though.
One of you computer gurus good at searches, help this new guy by finding it.
Maybe some of you have one.????

Folks, thank you for the ideas. I like the looks of the pistolware suggestion but it is going to take a few more miles until that one fits without bulging. I suspect I will need something that hangs outside, besides my tummy for a while. Darn that good barbeque! I appreciate all the information.

I carry a snubbie wheelgun in a belly band. Usually I wear a shirt underneath (either Under Armour type or an A-shirt) to help prevent rubbing discomfort, but I position the band low, and it rides much like a standard IWB would...without impacting my shorts/sweats.
