I have a 5 gallon bucket full of mixed hs 9mm brass. Between 8500-9000 cases. All range pickup. I removed all the mil, wcc and S&B. It all looks real good. 140.00 for it all. That's less than 17.00 per thousand. Includes the bucket and lid. Local pickup only.

I'm curious why each of the WCC, S&B and Military brass was removed. I'm not a reloader right now, but I plan on doing so in the semi-near future...just want to learn. Thanks.

Crimped primers. Crimps have to be removed.
Extra step & lotta time. Not a spot on a progressive loader to do it.

Understood, thanks. Are those the only brands with crimped primers? Do reloading books tell you this, or do you just have to pick up the info by word of mouth?

You can look at them & tell the difference. Military, WCC, for sure. I dont know about S&bull. You can look & see though.

S&B brass is really good brass however most people complain that it has a real tight primer pocket. Due to this they have a hard time running through their press.

Some people love it and have no problem pressing the primers in..

I pull it as there is a lot of 9mm brass and I don't want to cause anyone any problems. Life is to short to mess with tight primer pockets.

LT had it right about military cases.

Check with your local PD or SO most cops use the .40 nowadays and the ranges usually have tons of brass. Some will give it away, some sell it.

Capt. Roy, I got one of your 5 gallons the time before Charles. I can load the crimped brass on the 9mm. Let me know if you still have it. I can use it in my Dillon 1050.
