SOLD

Prefer cash sale, but will listen to trade offers. Located in Cedar Park, north of Austin. Willing to drive a bit for the right deal - meet halfway.

For sale ...
S&W Model 49 (no dash) "Bodyguard" - 5-shot all-steel J-frame .38 Special with the classic "humpback" barrel shroud (keeps the gun snag free for pocket carry, but still allows hammer to be cocked for single-action operation). This gun has been Duracoated in glossy black (me and a buddy did the work ourselves, complete disassembly and Duracoat application to individual parts and baked on). This has been my truck gun the last two years, and the finish has held up well. It's worn off where expected on a revolver (front of cylinder and front of barrel), but otherwise is in great shape. And best part - no rust and no worries with this finish.

This gun has the smoothest J-frame trigger I've ever fired. Never done a trigger pull weight measurement on it but it's considerably less than the newer style Airweight J-frames and remarkably smoother. The thinner front sight blade and slightly heavier overall weight also helps make this a very accurate little gun to shoot, without the harsh recoil of the Airweights. Unloaded this gun weighs 20 oz, compared to about 16 oz for an Airweight. Still pocket carries very nicely.

SOLD

I have that same model 66.

Would sure like to know who makes that holster, and model number?

If you decide to sell it seperatly, please keep me in mind.

Thanks !

I found it on eBay, basically unused or very lightly used. the name of the maker is scratched out for some reason but says "Montebello, Cal" - a bit of research and I believe this was a holster maker called Speed Safe Holsters ... http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthr ... ?p=3964289" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Duracoated - disassembled, coated, baked, and reassembled

though in the interest of full disclosure, the orange front sight paint is just Testors :oops:
