U.S. special operations forces rescued one American and one Danish aid worker from Somali pirates/kidnappers/terrorists/bandits/misunderstood yutes or whatever the politically correct term is.
The U.S. forces are thought to be Navy Seals, but the Pentagon does not confirm identities of special forces.
Nine Somalis had unexpected encounters with their maker. An unknown number suffered non-fatal boo-boos.

I'm happy for the rescued parties, proud of our armed forces

and astounded at the coincidence of a two person rescue operation taking place half way around the globe on the day of the current POTUS' SOTU address.
Way to go, Barry!

You'll show 'em, by crackie!

I'm really shocked that he didn't mention it in the SOTU address. I guess he has a little more class than I gave him credit for which still isn't much.

Oh, he did. He said, "good job" to Panetta so his media could hear and take it and run with the story. Panetta just beamed from ear to ear.

Interesting how Obama's only success as President has come from his military.
Really not how he ran.

I suppose it's too much to expect that we simply admire the courage and expertise of these SEALs (which now everyone acknowledges) who extracted two hostages with no casualties to themselves or innocent persons.
The identity of the CIC is not a factor. He didn't hire them, train them, or direct their tactics.

Jim's right:
The SEALS did a great job and we should all be proud of them.
The timing of their daring rescue mission is purely coincidental.
How's that?
