Guys,
Has anyone downloaded the Texas CHL iPhone app? There are no ratings on it and I'm curioius if it's worth the $2.

I have not. If you want, I can post the "shoot-along" audio files I made back before I got my CHL. I just need to figure out how to attach a file.

That app has nothing to do with this Site.
It contains a lot of information concerning Texas CHL but you can find most if not all of it here on this Site (for FREE) using the search function. Additionally, it is much easier to read here than on a iPhone!

My brother in law has a droid and likes the Texas CHL App for that, the search features, etc, make it a nice app.
But it is not the same as the Iphone App, which I am waiting to see if the droid developer will make the Iphone app the same.
I have also avoided paying for the Iphone app, as I really hate paying for apps! (especially due to,'is it really worth it'

I have the Android app... Basically, it's an easier-to-search version of the CHL-16 PDF that I was carrying on my phone already. The Android version is out-of-date, as the CHL-16 was updated in September 2011 and the app has not been updated since April 2011.
That said... I like the app... it's much easier to find stuff. But...... simply downloading the CHL-16 to your iphone might be just fine for you. How often do you really need to read that thing on your phone?
What I did was pull out the sections on "prohibited places", including 46.035 definition of "premises", and saved that as a separate PDF file. That's what I found myself occasionally referring to while I was out and about.
Summary... Good app, but not essential and currently out of date.

I have a wiki page set up, its really beta and I don't concider it ready for prime time.
http://libertysblog.dyndns.tv/mediawiki ... i:TexasCHL" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm not really interested in attracting a lot of traffic, because eventually I will move it to a more suitable host. but I think it might be fairly readable on portable devices such as the I-phone, and while it needs some work such as better linkage etc. I believe it is up to date, and it is free. Some might find it worthwhile to bookmark it.
Another wiki that might prove useful is
http://chlwiki.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
