I assume the big retailers video everwhere. Except the bathrooms and dressing rooms, maybe.

Wall Mart is there to make money. If that 20' of counterspace devoted to rifles is not making any money, it's gonna go. If that 20' of counterspace devoted to rifles is moving 3-4 rifles a week, then it stays. I barely see gun cleaning supplies in there anymore. The Acadamy down the road has it covered so why should they?

I don't believe that there is any kind of political motivation with this at all.

I spend very little time in Wall Marts these days but when I am there, I rarely see any firearms for sale EXCEPT in the rural town where my mom lives. They have a very healthy rifle counter and I'm fairly certain it's because there is no other place in town to buy rifles. If they weren't selling rifles, then that counter would be turned into all the other Chinese crap that they sell.
