My son....

I had to rush my son to the Baylor Grapevine ER this morning. It sounds Like he's experiencing a kidney stone, but he's never had any history of something like that before, so we don't really know what's going on. They just gave him some dilaudid a few minutes ago, and just now they've wheeled him away for a CAT scan. He's in tremendous pain, and even the dilaudid doesn't seem to be putting much of a dent in it. Please pray, if you feel so motivated, for a swift diagnosis and relief. This is the first time anything really serious has happened to my boy, and it was a bit unnerving to me and his mother.

Prayers for him and you TAM, been there done that. First kidney stones 25+ years ago, and just last year again, and both times they had to be removed. The pain is indescribable, you think you are going to die, and you are afraid you won't.
Here's hoping for a fast and positive recovery.

Well, it turns out that he does have a kidney stone that is trying to pass. The pain has been intractable and keeps coming back despite having maxed him out on the amount of dilaudid they can give him, so they are going to admit him to the hospital.
